   Andrew G. Janssen, M.D.
    Dr. Andrew Janssen is a board-certified family physician with a wide range of medical and non-medical interests. After graduating from Stanford with degrees in Civil and Structural Engineering he pursued a career as an engineer working on projects from earthquake design to light rail transit engineering in Portland, Oregon. He also had his own consulting firm providing engineering services. After realizing he would like to work with people more closely, he went to medical school at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). He completed residency at the Alaska Family Medicine Residency in Anchorage specializing in rural medicine.

    Dr. Janssen provides full spectrum family medicine care including newborn and child care, obstetrical care including c-sections, ongoing chronic disease management, and care of elders including end-of-life care. He also performs upper and lower endoscopy to include colonoscopy for colon cancer screening. He also enjoys working with youth and adolescents. He works closely with the Center for Human Development to provide mental health care. He provides in-hospital care at Blue Mountain Hospital and works at the emergency department. Certifications include: Family Medicine Board Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Advanced Life Support for Obstetrics (ALSO). He is also clinical faculty at OHSU teaching residents and medical students in John Day, Oregon.

    Dr. Janssen is married to Dr. Andrea Janssen. They both thoroughly enjoy time with their son Isaac and daughter Titaya. Dr. Janssen enjoys gardening, hiking, biking, travel, cooking, writing, reading and good discussion with tea.
