Andrea Grout Janssen, M.D.
Dr. Andrea Janssen started working at Strawberry Wilderness Community Clinic
in February of 2006. Her undergraduate studies were in chemistry at
Westmont College, and she obtained her medical degree from Oregon Health Science University in 2000. Seeking adventure and good rural medicine
training, she went to the Alaska Family Medicine
Residency
Program in Anchorage. After completing her training in 2003, she
worked at a community health center serving the underserved.
Her special interests at that clinic were cross-cultural medicine, women's
health, and HIV care. She and her husband, Andrew Janssen, decided to move
back home to Oregon where they are enjoying the outdoor opportunities of
Grant County with their 2 young children, Isaac and Titaya. Her
hobbies include: knitting, bicking, cross-country skiing, reading,
international travel, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa.
